The election was made today at a regional council meeting. krisi Leivonen, who was chosen as the winner, collected 30 votes in the election. Jan Tollet, who was elected director of the Central Finland Welfare Region on Tuesday, announced that he would withdraw from the search earlier in the day.

Kirsi Leivonen, project manager of the North Savo Hospital District, was elected the first director of the North Karelia Welfare Region.

At the regional council meeting, 30 votes were cast for Leivonen and 28 for Ilkka Pirskanen.

The election was made by official election. All 11 candidates applied for the election, with the exception of pre-favorite Jan Tollet.

Tollet was elected leader of the Central Finland Welfare Region yesterday. He announced that he would withdraw from the search for North Karelia earlier on Wednesday.

Three of the candidates were interviewed separately last week. Ilkka Pirskanen, CEO of Siun Soten, Jan Tollet, Director of the Pohjois-Savo Hospital District, and Kirsi Leivonen, Project Director, received an interview.

Based on the applications, interviews, and personal assessment, the interview team had nominated Tollet and Pirskanen, who had been the interim director of the welfare area, as top applicants.
